The College of Magic is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2005 with three days of non-stop magic– it’s South Africa's most exciting magical event ever !

It’s a celebration of world-class magic – and to kick off the excitement, some of magic’s top international stars will be jetting into Cape Town exclusively to attend this phenomenal event.

You’ll see breathtaking stage shows, dazzling gala performances and close-up jams. You’ll learn magic from the experts, take part in award-winning lectures, undergo hands-on workshops and experience first-hand some of the most mindblowing magic ever ! And for the teens – there are numerous special events planned just for you !

The Evasons

Shawn Farquhar
Shawn Farquhar is a born entertainer. Certain to amaze even the most sceptical of audiences, he has entertained in over 32 countries, performed for Her Majesty the Queen and has been seen by over 200 million television viewers. Shawn dazzled audiences at the World Olympics of Magic in Den Haag and received a Silver Medal for his unbelievable close-up performance. Shawn is also the only magician in the history of Magic to win both the International Brotherhood of Magicians’ prestigious Stage Magician of the Year and Close Up Magician of the Year awards !

Pit Hartling
Pit Hartling. Close up maestro. Multi award-winner. Author. Performer and inventor. Hailed as the true “magician’s magician” - a tidal wave of standing ovations and rave reviews has followed Pit’s rollicking blend of up-close sleight-of-hand, breathtaking magic and side-splitting patter. Nicholas Einhorn
Sought after by the likes of David Copperfield, Nicholas Einhorn represents the best of British magic ! In FISM 2003, Nicholas Einhorn flawed thousands with his championship close-up act. He is a two time Magic Circle Close-up Magician of the Year and a Gold Star member of The Inner Magic Circle.  Nicholas Einhorn is a magician without compare !

Magic has given Nicholas the opportunity to travel and work all over the world from the prestigious Magic Castle in Hollywood to the world famous London Palladium ... and now he comes to South Africa exclusively for the College of Magic's 25 Years of Magic Birthday Celebrations !

Michael Vincent
Michael is a Life Member of the Magic Circle with Gold Star, named  Magic Circle Magician of the Year three times and named as Best British Performer in the International Grand Prix.  Michael brings with him years of experience and will be sharing with us his performances and lectures that saw him receive a standing ovation at both The Magic Circle in London and The Magic Castle in Hollywood !

In the world today, there are very few magicians who posses the magical combination of superlative sleight of hand excellence and great theatrical presentation.  Michael Vincent is one of the chosen few.  Over the last thirteen years, Michael has earned the enviable reputation of being among the top elite magicians in the world.

His sublime magic has been showcased at the world's top venues. Michael would be the first to admit that great technique counts for nothing if it not supported by a meaningful theatrical presentation. "I believe that great magic combined with a good plot and presentation can make all the difference between the audiences acknowledging that they have experienced something extra-ordinary."

All the magic is taking place at GrandWest Casino & Entertainment World in Cape Town, South Africa from Friday 25th – Sunday 27th February 2005. GrandWest has state of the art facilities, a gem of a theatre, plus cinemas, ice-rinks and restaurants to suit every taste and budget.

The birthday celebrations take place morning, noon and night over the full 3 days ! It’s a time for magicians to make new friends, see old faces and eat, sleep and live magic.
